Don ManterDon Manter began teaching at SHS in 1997. During his 12 years here he has taught all the courses offered in the Tech Ed Dept except woodworking. A graduate of UNH(B.S.)’71 and SUNY Oswego(M.S.) ’93 plus an internship in Environmental Education helped mold the teacher as we know him. Mr. Manter’s extra curricula activities include providing free guitar lessons to beginning students and the Frisbee Club advisor. Mr. Manter owned and operated his own contracting business for 12 years, volunteered in his community as an EMT, little league coach and on numerous town committees. Mr. Manter has a granddaughter, four sons and two daughter in-laws. Outside interests include being a member of the Metis of Maine (an Indian tribe), playing in a rock band and being an avid sports fan, fixing and making things and making people smile. Unusual factoids: Built and lived in a Sioux Indian tipi in New Hampshire from August to January; Rugby player at UNH (’73-’75)and for the Amoskeag team in Manchester(’95); Driving on the wrong side of the car on the wrong side of the road drove around a traffic circle in England going the wrong way; Jumped out of a perfectly good airplane; Plus innumerable other adventures I will gladly share. “ If you find a job you love…you will never work a day in your life!” (anonymous)
